Hello Joakim and Wej,
Love your website and the amazing trip you’ve made.
Just wondering if you have a full GPX file of the route you have cycled (especially in china) and if you would like to share it?
Kind regards,
Onno
Hi
Nice you found our blog and I hope it can be to some help for you when planning.
Regarding the GPX file. We made one track for each day which are displayed on Strava. A year ago I tried to merge the tracks into one, but it didn´t work. Apparently the GPS sometimes make short gaps which made it impossible to merge different tracks into one. I could merge one or two, but more than that wasn´t possible.
I´d also like a long track so I´ll have a look at it tonight using another tool.
If you would like to, I can always share the separate files that I store in Garmin Connect (unforunately only the files from Turpan and onwards). Please let me know if you´re interested. I´ll contact you later through the e-mail you provided.
Cheers,
Joakim
Hi Joakim,
Thanks for replying!
I also know about the difficulty in merging GPX tracks:)
You can just send me the daily files (from Turpan) and I will sort it out….
Greetings,
Onno
Hi,
thanks for the incredible information. with two friends I will be riding on part of your route (Chengdu-Lanzhou) but with opposite direction in a month.
I hope we will also be able to share some information!
I’m glad the info was useful to you. Enjoy your trip!
